Getting Us Your Materials

After you have placed your order, you can send us your materials.  The fastest way is to send mp3s and/or lyrics over email.  When you order online, you will be directed to email us your files right away.  Otherwise, you can send a CD, cassette, or mini-disc along with your lyric sheet and any special instructions you might have through the mail.

The Wait

We strive to turn songs around as quickly as possible, but wait time does fluctuate depending on work-load.  Our average wait-time is about 4 weeks.  If you need your song(s) faster, ask about our "expedited service" (additional fee applies).

The Songwriting Stage

(If you already have a fully written song, you will proceed directly to "The production stage", below.)  If you are a lyricist and require songwriting or are sending a vocal recording that requires arranging, we may contact you again while we are developing the song if we require further information from you or if we have specific suggestions.

It is always our goal to make your songs the very best they can be.  When working with lyricists, we may suggest specific changes in phrases or word substitutions.  When working with a melody in need of accompaniment, we might also suggest minor alterations in phrasing and/or song structure.  We will always ask you about major changes, but please let us know in advance if you are uncomfortable with any changes.

The Production Stage

This is where the fun begins.  If necessary, we will get back in touch with you to go over production details such as song style and desired instrumentation.  We may also ask you for specific artists who exemplify the sound you are hoping for.  With that information, we can decide which of our producers is best suited for your particular project.  All production is given final approval by our Lead Producer and founder, Trystan Matthews.

Next, we record your song.  We employ nothing but the finest musicians and vocalists, who put care into every note.  We love what we do and take pride in our work so we aim to ensure you are nothing less than totally satisfied with the final product.

The Listening Stage

After production has commenced, we will send you an mp3 via email for your listening pleasure.  This is your opportunity to let us know how we did.

Revisions

Most of the time our clients are very happy with the results (see testimonials).  However, if there are some things about the production that you are unhappy with, this is your opportunity to let us know.  Most of the time, we are able to fix whatever you don't like about the recording without charging any additional fees.  If the grievance was due to vocals, we may charge for vocal "re-dos."

The CD Stage

Next we mail you 2 CDs - one with CD audio for use in any car or home stereo, and a second CD with wav files and mp3s.  Both CDs will contain an instrumental version of the song (in case you plan to add your own vocals) as well as a version with vocals (assuming you paid for a vocalist).  If you paid for songwriting services, but did not pay for a vocalist, we are happy to include a "scratch vocal" of the melody we composed for you at no additional charge.

The Marketing Stage

After we record your song or write music for your lyrics, we will help you market and sell it online by posting your song(s) and your bio with an online music store, SongSlide.  This is an optional service we are offering and is free to any and all clients of Demo My Song.  It's a great way to not only get heard, but to start actually making money on your songs!
